The Urban /Hōm,sted/ Farm is currently in development, with official progress beginning in March 2025. We are in the process of designing and shaping the land with intention, creating a space that not only serves the community today but also lays the foundation for the youth who will have full access in 2026.

Located on 5 acres in Phelan, we are transforming 1 acre into dedicated agricultural land grown for and by the community. This farm will be more than soil and crops, it will be a place to learn, connect, and build together, offering opportunities for hands-on farming, youth programs, and a hub for community engagement.

The Urban /Hōm,sted/ Farm was co-founded by Bruce McCall and LaTia Youngblood, two visionaries rooted in community, culture, and the land. Together, they bring passion, purpose, and a shared commitment to creating a farm that feeds more than the body, it nourishes the spirit of the community.

Together, Bruce and Tia are designing The Urban /Hōm,sted/ Farm as a space for the culture, by the culture. A hub where youth can grow, families can gather, and the community can thrive.

The Urban /Hōm,sted/ Farm is more than land, it’s a movement. We are cultivating a space that bridges culture, community, and sustainability for those serving a purpose with community in mind.

Our vision is to transform one acre of farmland into a thriving agricultural hub that connects people back to the soil, provides access to fresh produce, and offers programs that inspire the next generation.

From walking paths that honor historical figures to spaces designed for gathering, learning, and growing, and our dairy, every element of the farm is rooted in intention and community care.

We believe the future belongs to our youth, and this farm is designed with them at the center.

Beginning in 2026, young people will have full access to The Urban /Hōm,sted/ Farm through hands-on farming opportunities, STEM and SEL programs, and workshops that connect them to culture and community.

By introducing them early to sustainability, food systems, and land stewardship, we’re planting seeds that will grow into lifelong skills and generational change.

This farm is for the culture, by the culture.

We are creating a safe, welcoming space where families, neighbors, and friends can come together to learn, grow, and gather.

The Urban /Hōm,sted/ Farm will host community events, farm-to-table experiences, and volunteer opportunities that bring people closer to nature and to one another. From seasonal harvests to collaborative projects, we are building a hub of togetherness, where sustainability meets soul.
