MINDS

An Interactive RC STEM program For The Youth

Urban Reset Foundation DRIVEN MINDS RC STEM Program introduces students to the exciting world of remote-controlled cars and model-building. Through workshops and interactive activities, kids will learn to design, build, and program RC cars, gaining a deeper understanding of engineering concepts and technology.

What is STEM?

  • Engineering & Mechanics: Students will explore how RC cars are built, understanding the roles of motors, gears, suspension systems, and other components.

  • Programming & Electronics: They'll dive into basic coding to program RC cars and learn about electrical circuits, sensors, and remote-control systems.

  • Physics in Motion: Activities will teach principles like force, friction, speed, and aerodynamics through practical demonstrations.

  • Problem-Solving: Each youth will engage in troubleshooting mechanical and programming issues, encouraging critical thinking and resilience.

This program is not just about building cars, it's about building futures. By combining STEM education with SEL, the RC STEM program helps kids develop the technical knowledge to succeed in an increasingly tech-driven world and the emotional intelligence to thrive in life. This dual focus ensures that they not only become competent engineers or programmers but also empathetic and resilient individuals capable of navigating challenges with confidence.

The program's multifaceted curriculum not only focuses on STEM but also incorporates SEL components to support holistic youth development.

What are the benefits of incorporating SEL within the program?

  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Students will work in groups to design, build, and race their RC cars, learning to communicate, delegate tasks, and support one another.

  • Emotional Regulation: Racing and building can be exciting but challenging. Kids will practice managing frustration, celebrating wins, and learning from setbacks.

  • Goal Setting & Achievement: Each child will set personal and team goals, learning the importance of planning and persistence.

  • Empathy & Inclusion: The program fosters a supportive environment where every student feels valued and included, enhancing their ability to understand and respect others' perspectives.

Who can participate?

Our Driven Minds RC STEM & SEL Program is open to youth between the ages of 8 and 17 who have a passion for building, teamwork, and the thrill of RC cars and racing.

This program is designed for kids who enjoy hands-on learning, problem-solving, and working together to bring innovative ideas to life. Whether they are beginners eager to learn or experienced builders looking to refine their skills, this program provides an introductory opportunity to explore engineering, technology, and emotional intelligence in a dynamic and supportive environment.

For the first class, only 5 slots will be available, ensuring that each participant receives focused guidance and mentorship. This small group setting allows for an immersive experience where students can fully engage with the material, collaborate closely with their peers, and develop both technical expertise and personal growth. It will be a full day of fun, food and community as they will be able to race on a track built just for them!

If you or someone you know is ready to build, race, and grow, don’t miss the chance to be part of this exclusive first cohort!

BLOOM WHERE YOU’RE PLANTED

Urban Garden Arts & Wellness Program

Bloom Where You’re Planted is a one-of-a-kind gardening program designed to help youth cultivate more than just plants—it’s about growing creativity, resilience, and emotional well-being. Rooted in the belief that every child has the potential to thrive no matter where they start, this program combines gardening basics with the transformative power of the arts, mental health awareness, and social-emotional learning (SEL).

Through teamwork, mindfulness, and creative expression, Bloom Where You’re Planted inspires youth to connect with the natural world, build meaningful relationships, and recognize the power within themselves to bloom no matter where life has placed them. Together, we’ll plant the seeds for a brighter, healthier future, one child and one garden at a time.

OUR HOLISTIC APPROACH TO LEARNING.

Bloom Where You’re Planted embraces a holistic, student-centered approach that integrates gardening, the arts, mental health awareness, and SEL as interconnected pillars of learning. This flexible curriculum encourages active participation, collaboration, and exploration, allowing students to co-create their learning journey. Instead of rigid lesson plans, the program adapts to the needs and interests of the group, encouraging curiosity and engagement through inquiry-based activities like designing their own garden layouts, creating art inspired by their environment, or leading mindfulness exercises.

In this program, kids will disconnect from technology and dig deep into the soil to learn how to nurture life, explore their creativity through nature-inspired art and journaling, the importance of sustainable living while also developing tools to care for their emotional and mental health. Our hands-on approach encourages children to see challenges as opportunities to grow.

Limited Enrollment for a Focused, Impactful Experience.

To ensure that each participant receives the attention, guidance, and hands-on experience they need, Bloom Where You’re Planted will have only four to six slots available per session. Keeping the program small allows us to focus on the individual growth of each youth, providing a nurturing environment where they can fully immerse themselves in gardening, the arts, and social-emotional learning. This intimate setting ensures that every child receives as much knowledge and mentorship as possible, allowing them to carry these lessons beyond the garden and into their daily lives.

We also invite parents and community members with gardening experience to volunteer and engage with our youth, helping to create a multi-generational learning space. Volunteers can share their knowledge, offer hands-on support, and inspire the next generation of growers. This collaborative approach supports deeper connections between young participants and their community leaders, reinforcing the idea that gardening and personal growth are a lifelong journey best nurtured together.

By keeping our group small and encouraging community involvement, we create a meaningful, impactful experience where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to Bloom wherever they are planted.
